w&p gift guide || for her
it's a bit early to be jumping fully into holiday mode, but we have been getting some requests from family for gift ideas, so we thought we'd start with a few pieces from our own wishlists that would be perfect gifts for her and him.

ladies first.

last year my sister gifted me a lovely gold honeycomb necklace from gorjana, and i love the idea of layering it
with the coordinating lariat, cuff, and other items from the jeweler's delicate collection

i am so in love with every jo malone product i've ever tried, and my favorite scent is the fresh, clean

the chicest, most demure heels

kate spade announced their new swim line this summer, and it's scheduled to hit the salesfloor this november.
it's not up yet, but i'm definitely keeping an eye out for the launch!
5. kate spade swimsuit

we just posted about our discovery of erin fetherston's "charmed, i'm sure" concept, and this clutch
would be perfect for social engagements during the holidays and into 2015

what self respecting francophile doesn't love chloe?

from the pretty packaging to sultry, soft scent, we're smitten with this perfume

roseline of this is glamorous has impeccable taste, and her collection of leather goods reflects it beautifully

i've recently started taking the occasional barre class, and i'm hooked. physique 57 has been my favorite (it doesn't hurt that they're located inside one of manhattan's most exquisite buildings, the ansonia),
and good attendance will be crucial after weeks of holiday indulging.

1. on a recent weekend trip down to washington, dc, we followed the recommendation of the infatuation (always a good idea) and found ourselves at the tiny thai gem, little serow. we were sold after they described the family style, no-menu, super-spicy restaurant as a punch in the face, and we were not disappointed. it's definitely a must-try if ever in the dc area.

2. spotify's got some great new playlists. be sure to check out nu-modern, southern gothic, and the pulse of americana.

3. sometimes you just want your manhattan apartment to smell like a deep-woods campfire, and for that, there's juniper ridge campfire incense. we're addicted.

4. fall's got us feeling a bit like nesting, and we've been pulling inspiration for updating our own pile of bricks.

5. we've been hunting for some new furniture, and we finally found a bar that's the perfect mix of whiskey-rugged and pearls-polish.

 cold spring apothecary

we were happy to find that the brand has since expanded to a new space that's still rustic and cozy, but perfectly open and fresh.

shopping in cold spring ,  new york

our love affair with this hudson river town continues.
we first visited cold spring for a winter weekend getaway in february 2013, staying at the cozy hudson house inn. we've since been back hiking a few times, and on this last trip, we found some new developments on main street that we wanted to share.

we left this gem with books on beekeeping, campfire incense, coffee, and a growler of harvest ale (with 2 cups for the train ride, of course). open just since april of this year, the general store offers the perfect mix of food, supplies, and gifts.

on the heels of another busy summer, where half-packed suitcases and drying swimsuits occupied the better part of the apartment for months, we felt the need for some reorganization.
we certainly don't want to rush summer away, but we are starting to feel the fall nesting bug.
we tackled our built-in - a prominent focal point in the living room - giving it a fresh, almost back-to-school look.

montreal  :  clark street mercantile
this summer's been full of travel, including a first-time visit to the charming french canadian city, montreal.
full of cobblestone streets, unique restaurants, and grand old architecture, the area reminded us of some
cool parts of new york, with a bit more french and a lot more canadians.
we made an unexpected stop into clark street mercantile, while waiting for our breakfast poutine at faberge
(thumbs up, by the way), and were happily surprised.
think best made, with more of a focus on clothing and accessories.
we fell in love with a photograph that made its way home with us,
and we'll definitely be back for more next time we make our way up north.
